When you talk to someone who loves and grows many roses for many reasons, they will always be asked the same question ... “ Of all the roses you grow which one would be your favorite?” My answer - “ Sunset Celebration”. It is and will always be a standard in my garden. In fact after a recent move, and leaving her behind, I went in search of another to replace her in my current garden. I simply adore this rose.
Her color leads to many applications. From the rose 'show-er' to the rose 'grow-er'. Sunset Celebration goes well in any color situation in your garden and will fit in as great focal point on which to build a rose garden. A prolific flowering Hybrid Tea rose , officially listed as an Apricot Blend, it is always in bloom.
This rose has double (17 - 25 petals), high centered blooms which always surprise me. This rose will give me beautiful high-centered exhibition blooms and also wonderful garden blooms, in that soft apricot color that goes well with any other color in the garden.
Bred in the UK in 1994 by Gareth Fryer , Sunset Celebration was an AARS winner for 1998 and is readily available commercially. It has shiny dark green foliage that remains disease resistant in my no-spray garden! It is a tall grower, up to 6 feet in a growing season, so give her room to grow. With huge blooms at 5 ½ “ and a sweet fruity aroma, Sunset Celebration is a wonderful staple for any garden and comes highly recommended!
