Changes to the Guidelines (approved by the Board of Directors at St. Paul, MN) :
The ARS Board of Directors met in ST. Paul, MN on June 29, 2007 and approved the following 5 actions. Four of the changes involve housekeeping procedures for the National shows.
1. The listing of classes to be offered at the National show
2. Spacing allotments for National challenge classes
3. National class order listing
4. Permitting the new ARS Youth membership holders to qualify for the Edmund’s National trophy
5. Effective immediately only roses classed as Large Flowered Climbers (LCl), Hybrid Wichuranas (HWich) and Hybrid Giganteas (HG) are to be shown in the climber class and be eligible for the ARS “Best Climber” certificate. All other roses classed as ClHt, ClOGR, ClFb, ClMin etc are to be shown in the Ht, OGR, Fb, Min class respectively. There is no longer the old exception which allowed ClHt with no bush counterparet to be exhibited with the climbers. An easy way to remember the new rule is just drop the “Cl” and whatever class is left is the class the rose shows in.
