ARS CONTESTS
Another aspect of the rose hobby is rose photography, creating rose-related websites, writing stories and essays about roses, crafting fabulous quilts featuring roses, competing in 'name a rose' contests and much more.

The ARS is looking for the best web site that any of our local or district societies has on the web. This is an annual contest - and YOUR society may be the winner!! Local and District rose society's web pages can now be entered into the 2006 Annual Web Site contest. There are two classes to enter - Local Society and District Society. Call for entries is in each January issue of American Rose.
ANNUAL SLIDE/DIGITAL PHOTO CONTEST
The American Rose Society holds this competition for members to enter their best slides of their roses. The judging panel is made up of ARS horticultural and/or Arrangement judges who are also experienced photographers. There are 15 classes to enter - including novice and master; with six certificates given in each class: gold, silver, bronze and three honorable mentions. Rules and entry form are printed in the August issue and the winners of each class are featured in the May issue of American Rose.
ANNUAL NEWSLETTER / BULLETIN CONTEST
The American Rose Society conducts an annual competition to recognize outstanding publications of local societies and districts. In addition to the newsletter/bulletin competition, the Newsletter/Bulletin Awards Committee will recognize individual articles and special publications for Awards of Merit. Call for entries is in the January issue of American Rose. Winners announced at the ARS Spring Convention and featured in one of the Fall issues.
