Contests

Does your society have a website? Plan to enter the ARS 2010 web site contest.

Each District or Local Society with a website can register for the Website Contest by visiting the Contests section at www.ars.org. Your website must be published on the Internet by April 30, 2010, and remain active during the year in order to be considered for the contest awards. This can be a great reason to update and redesign your site! Top winners (Local Queen of Websites and District Queen of Websites) in the previous year’s contest are ineligible during this year.

A reporting fee of $10 is required to defray the costs of running this contest and collating the information. For this fee, you will receive a concise appraisal of your site sent to you after the first quarter judging session. If you do not wish to receive the appraisal, there is no fee.

Websites will be reviewed quarterly. The minimum requirements for a well-designed website will be used in the evaluation of your site. Points for each of the criteria will be awarded on a scale of one to five, with five being the highest rating. The final review will be conducted at the end of December each year. The website with the highest point score will be awarded the ARS Gold Certificate for Best District or Local Society Website for the year. The runner-up will receive the ARS Silver Certificate, and the second runner-up will receive the ARS Bronze Certificate. Awards will be presented at the ARS Spring Convention.

Results of the contest will be announced in the American Rose magazine. The winning websites will have their URL prominently displayed on the ARS site during the April through June season of the year the award is announced.
