Designed by the award-winning Jeffrey Carbo Landscape Architects and Site Planners of Alexandria, LA, the Watkins Reflection Pool & Garden will feature an 80-foot reflection pool with an infinity border to create a place for peaceful reflection and celebration of area residents and visitors and to provide an impressive transition from Klima Rose Hall, the American Rose Society Education and Visitor Center into the 40 acres of rose gardens. Future phases include a surrounding garden, new sidewalks, a beautiful gated entry for brides and an entry pavillion.
The Watkins Reflection Pool & Garden originated in 2006 with a bequest from Dr. Dudley G. Watkins, an ARS member from California. Fundraising is ongoing for future phases, with naming opportunities still available.
Construction began immediately following the groundbreaking ceremony and is expected to be complete by June 2010.
