Designed by the award-winning Jeffrey Carbo Landscape Architects and Site Planners of Alexandria, LA, the Watkins Reflection Pool & Garden will feature an 80-foot reflection pool with an infinity border to create a place for peaceful reflection and celebration of area residents and visitors and to provide an impressive transition from Klima Rose Hall, the American Rose Society Education and Visitor Center into the 40 acres of rose gardens. Future phases include a surrounding garden, new sidewalks, a beautiful gated entry for brides and an entry pavillion.

The Watkins Reflection Pool & Garden originated in 2006 with a bequest from Dr. Dudley G. Watkins, an ARS member from California. Fundraising is ongoing for future phases, with naming opportunities still available.

Construction began immediately following the groundbreaking ceremony and is expected to be complete by June 2010.

One of the many benefits of membership in the American Rose Society is free access to our online quarterly bulletins. We understand that our members have interests within the wide world of the rose growing hobby that are as varied as they are. Each of our quarterly bulletins discuss in greater detail more specific aspects of our nation’s floral emblem and offer a little something extra for everyone. When you finish reading the last page of American Rose, be sure to check out these bulletins for more rose reading! They are located in the Quarterly Bulletins section under the Members Only menu, and the password can be found on the Contents page of the most recent issue of American Rose.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for visiting the interim website of the American Rose Society. Our site is currently under construction, and we invite you to visit often to watch our progress.

If you wish to become a member of the Society, our secure online store is temporarily out of service. Please call us toll free (1-800-637-6534). One of our friendly membership staffers will help you join.

If you are already a member of the Society and do not find the resource material you need on these interim pages — including forms and reports — please call us toll-free at headquarters (1-800-637-6534). We will be happy to assist you.

Many of you know that in July 2009, our website was the victim of a catastrophic virus. The entire site and all of our content was ruined. Nothing could be saved. So, we are starting from scratch to build a new and improved site that will offer reliable and timely information about growing roses, as well as all the best resource material you have come to expect from the American Rose Society.

Our website is now totally secure in order to protect our visitors from future viruses. Launch date for the new website is expected to be early 2010.

We value each of our website visitors. Thank you for your patience as we work hard to build an exciting new web presence for you to enjoy.

Sincerely,
Jeffrey Ware, Executive Director
